This is a limited-edition reproduction (giclée) of my original watercolor painting of many of our favorite backyard birds. Some of these feathered friends are only here part of the year, but with this painting you can enjoy a sense of their presence year-round. This artwork would also be a great gift to any bird lover. I think it would be especially touching to give to a loved one who misses seeing these birds daily, perhaps due to a move or illness.
I painted this watercolor as a commission for a book entitled "You Make My Heart Sing" by Our State magazine's editor-in-chief, Elizabeth Hudson. You can read the corresponding essay on Our State's website, at https://www.ourstate.com/from-elizabeth-hudson-carolina-glee-club/
The size of the print is 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm)
About the printing technique:
My prints are made using a technique called giclée (zhee-clay). They really look and feel like original watercolor paintings because my printer uses a super-fine spray of archival-quality ink to print on real watercolor paper. It also uses superior range of color and produces even blending, so there are no dots or visible signs of printing at all.
(Any frames or other props shown in listing photos are for example only and are not included in the sale of this artwork. If you would like to purchase framed artwork, please contact me with your request.)

Artist's Statement and Bio:
I create art because I am compelled to do so. The feeling I get from creating something that pleases my senses—and hopefully the senses of others—has held me in its grasp as long as I can remember. When I see something that captivates my eyes, I immediately start thinking about how to translate it into a drawing or painting.
I have been working as a professional artist since 2009 and have been practicing drawing and painting my whole life. I am a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, where I currently live and maintain a studio. I also teach watercolors to students of all levels and love to share my deep passion for the medium with others.
I am incredibly honored to have sold paintings to collectors from around the world and to have received numerous prestigious awards for my work. Most notably, I achieved Signature Membership in the American Watercolor Society in January 2021, which is earned by receiving juried acceptance into 3 separate AWS International Juried exhibitions and is meant to be an indication of the painter having established a consistent style and to have demonstrated considerable skill in the medium. I am also a Signature Member of the Southern Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of North Carolina, and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.
